Doom Desire March 2013 Update
Subject description: Crystal Clear
First news post in this year, but it doesn't come with nothing. Mostly focused on Paladin stuff, and making the ingame resource gfx, which is described below.

Paladin Eidolon
This time as a structure. They can support each other after deploy.
Paladin Dreamspark
These strange creatures allow Paladins to quickly even the odds when severely outnumbered. Their bodies don't last forever, though, and they might die after some time.
They're available only through the Dream Spark support power.
Paladin Phantasm
A manifestation of pure fear, their mere presence can make living creatures panic and run away. Completely mindless, they are driven only to cause as much fear as possible, before they dissipate into nothingness.
Paladin Protector
Basic base defense unit (as name suggests). They attack the enemies (both ground and air) with powerful kinetic blasts.
Paladin Defense Structures
Paladin Eidolon, Crystal of Delusions and Crystal of Vengeance. All with their charge-up and idle anims. Eidolons and Crystals of Vengeance can support each other.
This should also be all for Paladin defense structures, as they're very unlikely to get more.
The Crystalline
Years before the alien invasion, some people started to report sighting of strange, small, bluish crystals, suddenly appearing in remote Earth locations. The information about them never got into the wider public, though. Not until just few months before the alien attack, when their growth rapidly increased, with an influx of mental breakdowns and homicides in settlements nearby.

Thats what I like in Mevitar's Stuff... i've been thinking Mevitar might be the only person in the Modding Community who might be able to do a smooth transition animation via Voxels (I.E: if someone remade the Slave Miner, Siege Chopper) _________________ ~ Excelsior ~ QUICK_EDIT
If you have the model from which the voxel was converted, it's just a matter of using the correct lighting and shadow positioning.
WestWood got lazy with Siege Chopper and Slave Miner, but it doesn't mean it's hard.
It's just all mods might use different lighting settings (like ExtraUnitLight), and what would look good in one will look off in another, so it has to be adjusted to the lighting in the mod. QUICK_EDIT
I like this. I suggest you try to optimize the pallete for your crystals so they don't look so 8bit.
Also some animations can be improved by having them keep moving while they charge or fire. Which would make the game feel more alive. Kinda like TI animation or SC series for example.
When animations stop for the charge up and fire animations it just looks like "ohh I was waiting for something epic, but meh. I like your art style. QUICK_EDIT
The palette is WIP, it will be changed at one point, when more buildings will be done, and i know what colors it needs. Everything will be converted again at that time, including the crystals.
Also, I would have improved the beam width if i could. As for now, it is tied to some other stuff that i don't want to use, because i would then get red/yellow/green/etc beams fired from blue crystals... QUICK_EDIT
