Due to technical problems, i doubt it's a good idea
a) as you have shown, giving the laser section the gate logic makes them open for units, but the units get destroyed as soon as they enter the cell. (Same happens when you make them passable using FirestormWall=yes or Bib=yes)
b) using a normal separate gate with laser style doesn't works good either because
-the whole gate becomes passable, so it would look bad if the gate consists out of laser only, which then stop in the middle of nowhere. A small building on each side of the gate would need to be placed outside the foundation (problematic if the gate stands alone and the small posts are on normal passable cells next to the foundation).
-having buildings with a bigger foundation than 1x1 connect to lasers can cause trouble

Looks bad because then the lasers of the sections next to the gate would again stop in midair without anything blocking them.

If the gate stands alone, units can move on the edges as they are passable. And that would look pretty bad.
