What's the difference between compiling it in different compiler versions? Is it just that later versions will use later hardware instruction sets that earlier processors simply don't have? There should be a setting to prevent that though, correct?

Nope, it's related to memory management, 2012 compilations use a more direct approach at injecting and some Windows prevent them to run due to that.

Oh ok. This is a subject I know basically nothing about and I think only really advanced hackers know about this stuff, so maybe I will never know. I don't even know if I should eventually know about his stuff. That's how much I know about it.

Quick question: Can anybody confirm that [Weapon]Beam.IsHouseColor=yes works as intended for radiation beam weapons in this binary version? If this tag is set on the Desolator weapon, the beam should be red for red players and purple for purple players. This binary is more up-to-date than RC2. You can replace the RC2 binary with this.

ViPr: I prefer to use the latest compiler and it works for me on Windows 7 as well as on Windows XP. Some had problems to run Ares compiled with this version, so I used VS 2010 again.
