The tag KillDriver=yes does not work with CellSpread. In fact it also doesn't work with a lot of other damage types (particle, etc.)

Particularly, it doesn't work with "Fragment" weapons either (as in tesla--like)

So even a Superweapon can't use it. Neither bombardment, bombs, missiles, ineccurate projectiles, area damage, suicide weapons, etc. etc.

The only thing it's good for is a snipe-type weapon.

But in C&C Generals, for example, the Chinese had neutron shell upgrades that made killdriver warheads with area damage.

I would like to create, for example, also an allied Neutron Bomb superweapon that kills the drivers but not the tanks. Alas, as of yet, it i even impossible to emulate due to the limitations of the mechanic.

This could be seen as a bug since nowhere in the manual it states that it doesn't work with cellspread, area superweapons, or fragmented attacks.
EMP, for example, works just right in any of these conditions.

So, please, fix it?

It's not a bug. It was requested as a Jarmen-Kell logic, which does not do any of the above. You can't fix something that is not broken.

This is known, it's not perfect, but it's the way it is (same for over 500 other issues). It would take some amount of work to fix this, as well as some other limitations that arise from handle certain weapon effects differently. I don't think it will happen any time soon.
