It's usually a process of playing with settings and models until you reach a state you're happy with.  As with before, screenshots help.  So what do you have so far?

Maybe he is talking about the normals errors that 3ds2vxl throws up in its text display, but you can't really see something bad when you look at the graphical result. They are caused by contrary nearly coincident surfaces.
