TBH the Armata looks like a tank designed for Generals. It looks flat and crude.

They call it the Universal Combat Platform.
If I understand correctly, they intend it to be a common chassis for Russian tracked military vehicles. APC, anti-air, mortar, artillery, ARV, so on, so forth.

The Soviet Union lost in the war 26.6 million inhabitants (most of it is the civilian population). Most of the country has been a long time in the occupation. So that for Russia this victory - a sacred holiday and parades, is an integral part of it. I think that if the government decided to cancel the parade, they would have provoked very strong dissatisfaction of the population. QUICK_EDIT

Back on topic, cool pics, it's interesting to see how the arms race totally made heavy armor irrelevant, so everything shifted back to simple/basic armor, with explosive plating or extra layer cladding.
And obviously vehicles now have to be multi-role like aircraft, you can see flare launchers, chaff, mortars, probably something like tow-missiles, and light AA guns. Yes, maybe they have, but the Nazis didn't get the chance. If they did, a lot of us would all be dead.

That's the Armata IFV variant (T-15 with the tank being T-14).

i believe russia isn't the only country to hold military parades....but yeah....that armata looked beefy in the concept renders but the final tank doesn't impress me....it doesn't look progressive at all. the profile looks even more disadvantageous than the later T-models. Well....and then this happened....xD
that apc also is a straight up copy from the rheinmetall Boxer.

The BMPTs were dropped, due to being T-72 based.
