I have fixed the problem with the SHP Unit Animator, so if u want the source nobody just say.

I was also wondering how ur Delphi projects were doing, not heard anything on them........

Suggestions on improving SHP Unit Animator:

Speed Setting
Ability to play, pause and stop the animation
ability to save an animation to a gif?
ability to save animation as a framelist (one image with a strip of the animaton, like film reals)

Honestly, I actually haven't even looked into that source yet... busy, final exams coming up Embarassed What problem was there?
I've only been touching up small things on my bigger projects (and writing that help file with tag descriptions), and currently I'm trying to make a small site for RedUtils. Soon (when I find time) I'll be releasing updated versions, and will look at the animator, it can be quite useful.

the problem it had was if it didn't find a bit with the animation in the sequence, i.e a die5= then it would keep searching through the file until it found one.

PErsonaly i think its a good tool for previewing you shp's insted of wasting time in the actual game (loading it up each time u change it, waiting while the map laods, etc) you can see it without all that hassle, and develop shp's faster.

Mwahahahahaha! I have a version here that supports PCX Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil But no GIF yet... at least until patent of Unisys expire... since I dont wanna be charged to include GIF in a freeware, neither include that alternative TGIF that adds loads of useless trash to the program.

When do you guys think you can release the next version?

I would be happy if you released a version that has the cameo generator, PCX support and bug fixes only. And then add more features to the next version.

You need a liscense to use GIF format in your program, since the algorithm for LZW compression is patented by Unisys. There is an alternative way made by Andrew something that loads gif as well and it can be included in a software for free. The problem is that you have to include the whole library. You can't include just a part of it. It's bad because the program will load a lot of trash that isnt needed, so it ocupies your memory with useless stuff.

We might be able to include this LZW compression in the program by the beggining of July...

The current beta has a lot of incomplete new features. So, it's better to not release it yet.

So the terms of using Andrew's algorithm state that you must use the whole thing? Could you perhaps comment out the sections that aren't needed?

You could e-mail the maker if Irfanview and ask him what he did to get around this problem.
