In case you don't wanna use Ares, try this

The methods that can be used create a healing effect can differ depending of the context of it's use. So do you want to use it as part of a unit, building or superweapon?

You can use the method mentioned LKO for a unit or building. Some things missing from his code & or of note tho are setting Range=255 on the weapon & adding AttackFriendlies=yes on the unit to make it constantly fire. As well as AreaFire=yes to make the weapon only take effect around the unit/building. Lastly you will probably want to set AffectsEnemies=no to restrict the healing effect to your own units.

The Ares method involves AttachEffect.Animation with negative animdamage + cellspread.

Furthermore, as long as it doesn't have a tag preventing it from auto-attacking, it will do so by default.
