looks like a combination of an invisible arcing projectile with UseLineTrail, that in addition spawns something like a dummy animation with a custom warhead that has Bright=yes, to create the glow effect. Could be also a custom alphaimage.

Great work from the artistic and technical viewpoint.
But, as others have pointed out, the concept is so strange!
It certainly captures the bizarre flair of Japanese units in RA3.

One more reason to hope for U2U transformations to be added to Ares in the near future!
