A friend with Windows 10 has problems with the launcher.

As soon as he clicks on Skirmish or CnC.Net he gets the error:

'Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Media.MediaPlayer' threw an exception

He's been trying to install the dependencies but Windows 10 likes to forbid outdated packages to be installed.

Has anyone else with windows 10 managed to fix the problem?

After the client has crashed, go to your friend's TI directory, find Client\client.log and upload it here.

It uses MonoGame / XNA, yes.

I believe it's used to play the sounds for the launcher. (XNA is quite the relic)

I'll upload the log file as soon as I get it from him.

XNA was discontinued in 2012. MonoGame is an open-source replacement for XNA and still in development, and the client uses it for everything that's related to graphics and sound. The whole UI relies on it.
