I do realize this is probably not the best place to post this, but I'm scared of other forums and I don't know where to post this.

Also, Twisted Insurrection is the first time I actually started to question how Veterancy really works.

1. I first thought it was based off kills, but then the Ranger becomes Elite when killing a M3 Bradley, but then the Grenadier only becomes Veteran.

2. Then I thought it might be that Point value in Rules.ini, but then how does the game know what each unit receives as I don't see any kind of ""X" points = Gain Veterancy."

3. I then thought it would've been based off the unit's stats. Well, no, as I can give a Global Tech Peacekeeper named "F**KING ARO" with 10,000 Strength with Concrete Armour and 7 Speed with a Venom's ScorpionLaserElite weapon modified to deal 10,000 Damage with a RoF of 1 for fun and he'll level up normally.

So how does it work?

It's simply based on the object that kills and the targets cost.
In TI, VeteranRatio is set to 3, so a unit has to kill 3 times its own cost to become veteran. Another 3 times its own cost to become elite.

e.g.
a minigunner costs 100cr, so it has to kill objects worth 300cr to become veteran.
A bradley costs 600cr, thus a minigunner is instantly promoted to elite if it kills one.

A Banshee Bomber costs 2500cr, thus it has to kill objects worth 7500cr for veteran and 15000cr for elite.

Exactly like a 1 ranger/militant/pacekeeper destroys a conyard, the construction yards and outposts are costed as 2000, the basic infantries are so cheap, this is why when in RA2, a conscripts becomes elite after destroying an enemy contruction yard or an offensive superweapon like the nuke silo or temple of nod (in the mod itself TI).
