I think it is worth doing it. Sometimes XCC Mixer takes a while to load. That kind of solution you are proposing is faster.

In my experience it suffers from the same glitches (at least for RA2) as XCC Mix Editor...

I made batch files to create all my mod mixes, but it was just a recipe for exceptions -- not even once did it make all 9 (only 3 relevant) without crashing.

I actually tried it with ccmix today and it seems to be too flawed to use it.

Might have a try with the mix tool from sonar later.

Are there any other command line mix tools?

ccmix needs a few fixes for working with RA2 and TS mix files it seems based on issues people have reported, but I have enough on my plate with Thyme and RA++ so I don't have time to look at fixing it currently.

If you only want mix creation from the command line for automation we have built an internal tool for RA++ based on reimplemented code for mix handling that is dedicated to mix creation that i could release for you to try.

Would be better if you just fixed Blade's tool...Sonar's is written in Haskell and no one can read Haskell.

Sonar's tool also didn't do any handling of encrypted headers IIRC either, so its useless for reading mix files from RA an upwards.

I guess I need to be able to extract .mix files too.

But it's not that important, might do some more tests later and maybe gonna look into the ccmix code
