The talk is about that problem when you rename a unit from the RULES.ini

but it happens that I did renamed it through the XCC Mixer String Table Editor

for example the unit's image name X

so my rules code is this

[X]
UIName=Name:X
Name=SOMETHING
Image=X

And in the string I inserted X as the new unit and beside it I added SOMETHING as the name that I want it to appear or show up in the game

but I get only that old problem of MISSING:NAME: SOMETHING

so what is wrong?????

and sorry if it seemed to be a very  beginner question Very Happy

Alternatively, you can use Ares' NOSTR to name your units/buildings without the need to use string.

For example:

[UNIT] ;My Unit Name
UIName:NOSTR:My Unit Name
Name: My Unit Name
...

Keep in mind that this feature has a character limit of 32 including the NOSTR: itself.

Edit: My guess is that you are moddint the original Red Alert 2? If yes, then you need to edit on the string, sadly.

Guess this is what you want to read.

Just as I told you before "I DONT KNOW HOW THE HELL I HAVE NEVER KNOWN THAT THAT SITE EXISTS" for more than 7 years of modding I'v never met that site, Anyway I was doing every thing right in the string editor but with an exception of forgetting to add the "NAME:" before the unit's name that I wanted to show up in the game, ridiculous mistake wasn't it?
any way I noticed it in the bloody site .... thanks man

Also, there is no need to use Image=X when the unit itself is known as X. The game engine will automatically match them
.

I know about that but.... for some reason "I LIKE" to add the Image don't ask me why I just like it

And again thanks
