Prepare your modem, commander, because I'm talking about a 1.93mb gif file (the original file is 6.90mb file). This is a demonstration of my new weaponry in action... PPM Secret Labs revolutionizes again (with agent Stucuk Wink). Further info on this crazy weapon will be given later... for now, enjoy this... when your modem finish the download, of course...

Note: Feel free edit it if you wanna turn it into warhead Wink.

Great stuff, but the animation seems to cut out without really finishing.

Yes, it is... because the original result would end with a weird white ball, so I had to cut it #Tongue.

Considering the fact that this is a modding tools forums, should we get the impression that you're writing a procedural blob animator?

Meh... I posted that too early... Stu was writting a private program to test particles for his project helios... I've confused with a test program for weapon simulation at voxel viewer... sorry Sad (my imagination was a way ahead from reality).

i know this is a very old thread, and its not about cnc, but anyway. If anyone wishes to download the source to Helios they can. Its not the best engine on the planet and far from a finished and polished state. But it may help someone who is wanting to learn.

Note that most of the applications that can be built with the source need to be placed in a directory that contains the game files.

- Download ~ 2.72MB

Yes to both of the above. As well as replying late #Tongue.

A 3d Engine based on Q3BSP (Which was a simple q3 map viewer). You couldn't class Helios as a game, but u couldn't rearly class it as a level viewer eather. It supports Q3 and RTCW maps. (can't remember if it supported Ravens BSP format)

Note: for best results you need to extract the contents of the pk3 files found in rtcw or quake 3 into the respective directories.

It has nothing to do with CNC, can't support any CNC format etc. Banshee just played with the particle system years ago and "made" what he called a particle bomb.

The 2 particle apps don't have the ability to save an "animation" to a file (as there not animations but constant particle effects which arn't repetative).
