Use some compression software like winrar or 7z. "Compress into a Self-Extracting .exe"

No wait, i think he means to make an application of his own mod like what mental omega did in version 3.0, mental omega 3.0 had its own ".exe".

I think he meant more along the lines of MO 2, where all you had was an EXE and you had to run it, and then the files would appear out of 'nowhere'.
Similar to a self-extractor, except it cleans after itself once you close the mod so you can still enjoy the base game as normal.

From what I know, you'll be needing XCC Mod Creator for that. No idea where you could get it from nowadays tho.

There are many ways to achieve it, but IMO the best option is to use Launchbase:

Is Launchbase being actively used?
I mean not by modders. By players.
How much of the player base bothers with Launchbase when compared to mods that ship out a modded CnCNet launcher?

Then again, most people probably only have a mod or two for each of their games installed if at all.

make an SFX.

What's that? It's not a sound effect like Google says, is it?

SFX is another name no one uses for Self-Extracting Archive, so what cxtian stated.

If you want a real EXE like some mods use with a nice launcher, etc. you need to learn something like C++/C# or Java or use NSIS.

I tried winrar, placed the whole RA2 directory in an archive and made an .exe with it but when I tried launching the .exe it gave me an error "cant find .exe".

I installed XCC Utilities and I don't see the Mod Creator but I see the rest of the tools.

Because the last guy to touch the XCC utils installer must've forgotten to pack it in, and no-one bothered updating since.

I'd put the EXE here, but uploading EXEs directly is not allowed around here.
So instead: mega.nz link for download

Be sure to send a PM over if it down't work.
