Hey All

Trying to release one map a week for the time being, but as the one I'm currently on is taking a bit more time i thought i'd dip into my collection of classic maps for ya'll to enjoy.

So this a map that works for both RA2 and Yuri's and was designed as a free for all level but i think it works for team battles as well.
Each player starts on their own "island" with a main island in the middle connecting them all.
Potential for some good naval battles here.

I'll have to dig up the original readme but I think what I was going for was having each position have a different type of strength or weakness.
I try and make my maps look a bit more natural and not all perfectly symmetrical and all that.

The detailing looks a bit bare for what I do these days but i always found this map to be pretty fun.

One last thing, should i make a version thats compatible with cncnet?
Do you just change the file name from a .mpr or .yrm to .map?

This is all new to me, as is the Map Renderer, man that thing is magic, wish we had that back in the day!

It wasn't letting me add multiple attachments in the last post.

And now it is.  Rolling Eyes

You don't have to post the full renders here, just post the thumbnails, it's enough detail to see.

Stupid question, but how do I do that?

I thought the image was showing up way too big...

You have to resize the image in an image editor and re-upload it.

I personally just open the image in a new tab, Firefox then resizes the image to to match browser window size.

You can uncheck Output JPG/PNG and check Output thumbnail.

Latest Map Renderer - https://ppmforums.com/post-608322/cnc-maps-renderer-rewritten-works-for-tiberian-sun-and-ra2/#608322

Patched FA2 if you need - https://ppmforums.com/topic-47342/final-alert-2-yr-v102-patches/

If the map files .yrm, .mpr and .map are same, just give an instruction how to change filename extension instead of uploading the same file 3 times.

As for maps, I see rectangular water shores, could make it more detailed. Could switch between Framework and normal mode by using Ctrl+F in FA2.

A name suggestion for your first map - Two steps to heaven.  Smile

Thanks for the response guys.

-Pretty sure I have the up to date map renderer and Final Alert 2, just downloaded them recently.

-I have corrected the size of the map preview, looks much better now.

- I will do that from now on with the files, just drop the one file with the instructions on how to rename it (the .map extension is brand new to me, years away from the game, years away from computers really)

-I see what you mean about rectangular shores, it stands out now, will be looking out for that with future maps.

Apart from that, will probably release a classic map over the next week or 2, my new map might take a few weeks.
